GRAD AWARD 2020 GROUP SHOW
9 October 18:00 - 11 October 16:00
The CRATE UCA GRAD AWARD is an annual Award given by CRATE to selected UCA Canterbury Fine Art Graduates and is part of CRATE and UCA’s long history together, with many of CRATE’s founders, trustees and programming team having studied at UCA. The GRAD Award usually takes places during the summer, shortly after the Fine Art Degree Show and in the form of a shared residency in the Project Space but with Covid-19, social distancing and working from home regulations this was not possible.
This year however, with the support of the Arts Council England’s Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund, CRATE was able to continue the GRAD Award with the awarded graduates working from home and in some cases abroad, communicating digitally with each other and the team at CRATE and using the award as both for traditional artistic practise as well as research based practises. These changes also meant that we were able to extend the award and all the shortlisted graduates this year received the Award.
The CRATE UCA GRAD AWARD 2020 awarded graduates are Admire Ncube, Frankie Brown, Peter Leigh, Konstantinos Papagiannopoulos, Samuel Villanova, Teddie Newton, Tyler Potter and Xingru Chen.
This Group Show features work from: FRANKIE BROWN, PETER LEIGH, KONSTANTINOS PAPAGIANNOPOULOS, SAMUEL VILLANOVA, TEDDIE NEWTON, TYLER POTTER
